Living room
The living room depicts love just as the hearts symbolizes love. It is the first room you see when you enter the house and it's usually decorated with the things the families love most- like painting, pictures, ornaments, accessories etc.
It's sets the mood of the home. It reflects the personalities of the home owners. It is also a place where family members spend time together to relax, share stories and create memories.
Home Office
This is not a room that all homes have. Some people have in-built office in their homes and some convert a bedroom that's not being used into one.
An home office must exactly be used as one because it is a very important room where the owners conduct businesses, handle important documents and take important phone calls.
Bottom Line
Each room has a purpose and function. Not using a room for it's purpose takes away the essence of the room.
Times may have changed over the years, and so has the purposes of rooms in homes but the true essence of each room remains the same.
